Dear David...All I can say is WOW! I am spellbound by the beauty, depth & integrity of your work. If I had wings I'd fly there to personally dance a thank you for these most gorgeous contributions to the world of dance. In my humble opinion your work exemplifies dance as a sacred art. I can hardly wait to share this precious DVD with my fellow dancers & students here in Massachusetts, particularly my graduate students in the Creative Arts & Learning Masters program at Endicott College. Thank you for all that you contributed to the Festival & for touching my dancing soul in a special way. I am indeed a new fan! I pray that our paths cross again in this lifetime.

I wanted you to know how thoroughly I enjoyed the performance at Brooks on Saturday! It was absolutely magnificent; the skill, choreography, music, and costumes were brilliant. Everyone in Denver should see this show! Thank you so much for being a part of our arts program. We are blessed to have such quality associated with our name.

Zikr - Amazing Dancers and Images
David Taylor's Zikr Dance Ensemble is presenting a series of spring 2011 concerts in Colorado that include many of the sacred dances he has resurrected and/or created, as well as some of his contemporary ballet repertory. Zikr is now able to present those works as set on a company of fifteen amazing dancers, including some of Colorado Ballet's best. That results in stunningly embodied dances. Some of those dances, like those set to music by G. I. Gurdjieff and Thomas De Hartman, and restaged as dances Gurdjieff made, I could watch over and over. Those include "Note Values" and "Ho Yah." The dances Taylor sets on this amazing company come from deep spiritual places and are well crafted. Taylor's choreography usually presents them as series of stunning images with transitions from one image to the next, as accompanied by good music choices and more stunning projected images. Dancers that are in the company, like Gregory Gonzalez, have their own internal soul that brings the dances alive. Taylor has amazing technique at his disposal in dancers like Jennifer Kuhn, Caitlin Valentine-Ellis, Dana Benton, and Sean Omandam to mention a few. The dances that result are wonderful. I long for new ones.

What an outstanding show last night. We thought the quality of the dance, the choreography, and the story were all beautifully done. To have professional dancers of that quality in our little Valley was amazing. We are so glad that we were able to be there.

I loved, loved the performance. The dancer's and the spiritual nature of the performances were deeply moving..
